Background
Dr. Tony Nettleman is a Land Surveying Engineer and Attorney that has been practicing for over 20 years. He is the President and Owner of Nettleman Land Consultants. Dr. Nettleman has held distinguished professorships at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, University of Florida, Florida Atlantic University, and Troy University. He is currently the Director of the Nettleman Institute of Surveying Engineering (NISET) Tony currently teaches college courses, surveyor test prep, and continuing education courses both online and for national audiences. Tony also regularly serves as an expert witness in boundary, easement, title and riparian disputes.
Expert Witness
Dr. Tony Nettleman has helped over 100 clients understand their land surveying and/or property dispute issues. Tony has testified in depositions and trials over a dozen times throughout that period to help judges and juries better understand what’s expected of a Professional Land Surveyor. Whether you’re dispute is in Florida or Texas, New York or California, Tony travels across the country to conduct surveys, help the clients understand the substantive surveying issues, and resolve the surveying matter at hand.
Boundary Surveyor
Does Tony perform land surveys? Absolutely! Whether there is an issue as to the location of the property boundary, the client is not sure where they can build their dock based on their riparian rights, or a party is claiming that a Professional Land Surveyor committed some type of professional negligence, Tony always visits the project site at a minimum. Often times, Tony and his survey crew perform their own independent land survey so that they can better understand the unique characteristics and challenges of the project at hand.
Educator
Tony loves to teach! Whether it’s at a major university such as University of Florida or Texas A&M, or at a large group of Professional Land Surveyors at their annual state society meeting in Indiana, Ohio, Florida, or Texas, Tony has a presentation (and some unique opinions) to offer his audience.
Author
Tony was honored when he was asked to serve as a co-author to some of the most published land surveying books: Clark of Surveying, Brown’s Boundary Control, and Evidence & Procedure for Boundary Location. Taking over the primary authorship for Clark in 2020 is a great responsibility. But considering that the books have collectively been cited over 200 times in different court decisions, Tony hopes to continue the academic tradition of all three texts.
